If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are three Jewish men who refused to bow to King Nebuchadnezzar's golden statue. Facing a literal death sentence in a furnace, they make this bold declaration. Notice they don't say God will definitely save them — they say He's able to save them. It's a statement of trust that refuses to make God a vending machine for miracles.
God who sees in the fire, I'm terrified of getting burned. Give me the stubborn faith of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego — not certainty about outcomes, but conviction about who You are. When I face my own furnaces, help me stand. Amen.
These three men stand in front of a king who could erase them with a nod, and they basically say: 'Our God's resume includes rescuing people, but even if He doesn't this time, we're not trading our integrity for our lives.' It's the kind of courage that makes your stomach drop — not adrenaline-pumped bravado, but quiet conviction that some things matter more than survival. You've probably never faced a literal furnace, but you've stood at your own versions — the meeting where speaking truth might cost you a promotion, the family dinner where defending the vulnerable might make you the outcast, the doctor's office where faith doesn't guarantee healing. These men's words remind you that God's ability to rescue isn't the same as your right to be rescued. Sometimes the furnace is where you find out what — or who — you're really made of.

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
