Nathanael was a Jewish man who was initially skeptical about Jesus — he had scoffed when told the Messiah came from Nazareth, a small and unremarkable town. But when Jesus met him, he revealed he had already seen Nathanael sitting under a fig tree before they were ever introduced — a detail no stranger could have known. That moment of being supernaturally *known* broke something open in Nathanael, and he made a bold double confession: Rabbi (Teacher), Son of God, and King of Israel. Lord, you saw Nathanael before he ever saw you — and you see me the same way. Thank you that my questions don't surprise you and my doubts don't disqualify me. Open my eyes today to recognize you for who you truly are. Amen.
