And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
Paul writes to Christians in Corinth who've been hesitant about giving generously. He insists God isn't running low on grace — it's not a limited supply that shrinks when you share it. Instead, God's grace multiplies so you always have enough for what you need plus extra for blessing others. This isn't prosperity gospel; it's about having enough to live generously in every situation, whether abundance or lack.
Generous God, I've been treating your grace like a pie with limited slices. Forgive my scarcity mindset. Show me the multiplication happening when I give what you've given me — not so I'll be empty, but so I'll discover the endless jar you placed in my hands. Amen.
Grace isn't a loaf of bread that gets smaller with every slice you hand out. It's more like the widow's oil in Elisha's story — the more jars she poured into, the more flowed. You've felt this when you showed up exhausted for your friend's crisis and somehow found words you didn't know you had, or when you gave your last twenty to the single mom at work and discovered you didn't starve that month. God's multiplication rarely looks like winning the lottery; it looks like discovering you had more to give than you thought, and somehow your own needs were met in the giving.
How does Paul define 'all that you need' differently than our culture does?
Recall a time when generosity didn't leave you depleted but strangely filled.
Where might we unconsciously limit God's grace by hoarding what we've been given?
How does believing in abundant grace change the way you view people who ask for help?
What's one area where you sense God inviting you to give beyond your comfort this week?
