Acts 9:3

Saul was one of the most feared opponents of the early Christian movement — a zealous religious leader who hunted down and imprisoned followers of Jesus. He was traveling to Damascus with legal authority to arrest Christians there when something stopped him cold: a light so intense it knocked him to the ground. This is one of the most dramatic reversals in the entire Bible, the turning point that transforms Saul the persecutor into Paul the apostle — the man who would eventually write much of the New Testament. The word 'suddenly' is doing heavy lifting here. This was not a slow drift toward faith. It was a collision.

God, I confess I move through my days too fast to notice You half the time. When You flash light across my path, give me the humility to stop — even when it disrupts everything I had planned. I want to be interruptible. Amen.

Nobody saw it coming. Least of all Saul. He was mid-mission, confident in his direction, certain of his cause, heading toward Damascus with papers in hand and violence in mind. And then — without warning — the sky broke open over the road. Most of us don't get knocked flat in the middle of our certainty. But if you have ever had a moment when something shifted without your permission — a phone call at noon that rewrote the rest of the day, a sentence in a book that undid years of assumption, a quiet that somehow got loud — you know something of what Damascus felt like. God is not always slow and subtle. Sometimes He interrupts. The question worth sitting with honestly is this: are you so committed to your current direction, so sure of your own rightness, that you might miss the light if it came?
